Beginn der
Vorlesung: 20.10.08
Information Engineering befasst sich mit der Bereitstellung,
Aufarbeitung und Verteilung von Information in
wissens-intensiven Umgebungen, insbesondere im Zusammenhang
mit Digitalen Bibliotheken und
Wissensmanagement-Systemen. Informationen unterliegen dabei
einem Lebenszyklus, der von der Erstellung, Speicherung und
Verteilung hin zur Anwendung der Information geht, die
wiederum die Erstellung neuer Informationen zur Folge haben
kann. Diesem Lebenszyklus liegen häufig Geschäftsprozesse zu
Grunde; Informationen werden dabei dazu benutzt, um
wissens-intensive Aufgaben zu erledigen. Die Erstellung und
Anwendung von Information kann dabei auch kollaborativ erfolgen.
Im Einzelnen werden folgende Themen in der Vorlesung
behandelt:
- Grundlagen: Information Lifecycle, Wissen und
Prozesse, Information Seeking and Searching, Metadaten
- Methoden: Digitalisierung, Informationsextraktion, Ontology Engineering,Access Management, Annotation, Recommendation, Preservation, Evaluierung
- Systeme: Repositories, Web-Server, Content-Management-Systeme, Wikis, Digitale Bibliotheken, Architekturen
- Anwendungen: Daffodil, Collate, Web 2.0-Systeme
